It is a great question. Let’s take a deep dive into the concept a little bit. Let’s say you are a person of color in America and you have a friend of color that you like. This might be a woman of color, a black person, or it could be a person of color that you don’t like in a relationship.
The way we view issues of race and identity is very binary. If you are a person of color in America then you are automatically considered a “racially inferior” or “person of color”. The problem is that there is a lot of stuff that goes on in this world that is not completely black or white. I am a white guy who has had to deal with a lot of racial issues in my life, and I am still a white guy.
So if you are white, then you are automatically considered a white person, but if you are a person of color, then you are automatically considered a person of color. The idea of being a person of color is not as binary as it once was, but it is still very much the case. The idea of being a person of color is also not universally accepted.
I think there is a lot of confusion over what a “person of color” is. I have been studying it for a long time and I think it is best explained as a general term for any person of color. The two most common definitions are the “African-American” and “Asian-American”.
Like so much of the general lexicon, the term has many definitions and meanings. I have seen many people define a person of color as “someone from a racial minority”, but this is not really accurate. A person of color is not a member of a racial minority. It is simply a person who is of a racial background. That being said, I do agree that some people think that “people of color” includes Asians.
The term Asian-American is not used very often, but it is used by many Asians. The term Asian-American is a little different from the Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Native American (and some others) because it is used to describe people of Asian descent who are of Asian ancestry. The Asians who are of Asian descent are usually considered as being of Asian-American descent.
My first thought as I read this is that white people are really not “white.” In the past, white people had a lot of different categories that they were categorized as being white. For instance, the term black was used to describe people who were considered to be black, but the term “black people” also referred to people who were considered to be black. So people in the United States called themselves “white” and “black.” It also included people from other racial groups.
In the early 1900s, race was a very contentious topic in America, and there were many different categories. For instance, it could be white, black, and Asian. There were different races of African Americans. There were different races of Native Americans. There were different races of Mexican Americans. There were different races of Japanese Americans. There were people of Chinese descent. There were different races of African Americans who were considered Black.
Now, as a native Californian, I am not proud of being black. However, when I first moved to Los Angeles in 1989, I was shocked and horrified to discover that the city was so racially diverse. I thought that the city was full of white people, so why did we have so many diverse races, and white people? I’m not sure what I thought about the fact that there were so many different races that I was not fully aware of.
